Super Bowl Sunday and SOUPer Bowl Sunday!
Sunday February 8, we will be collecting canned and dried goods for Manna Food Center.
Bring your cans to the Calvin Room. On Sunday, February 8 from 11:30am-1pm, Rachel
will also be collecting cans in the RPC parking lot. Invite your friends and neighbors to stop
by! Most needed items include grains, protein, fruits and vegetables, shelf-stable milk,

Ash Wednesday Service and Dinner
Mark your calendars for the Ash Wednesday Service and Dinner on February 18th. We will have dinner at 6:00 p.m. and the service afterwards at 7:00 p.m. We will have soup, salad, bread, side dishes, and dessert. If you are planning on attending and would like to bring something to the dinner, please sign up on the sign-up sheet in the church hallway. Let’s get the Lenten season off to a great start!
Support Rainbow Place at Give a Hoot Comedy Club
On Thursday-Saturday January 29 to January 31, Give a Hoot Comedy Club will hold
comedy shows to support Rainbow Place. Give a Hoot is located inside of La Mexicana
restaurant at 16143 Shade Grove Road, Gaithersburg MD. Mexican food and drinks are

Christmas Eve Candlelight Service
Children and Adults of all ages are invited to come together in joyful anticipation as we celebrate the glorious birth of our Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ.
A Service of Lessons and Carols
Special music, a soloist and our choir will fill the Sanctuary with songs that highlight the age-old lessons of Christmas.
Children's Christmas Pageant
The children of Rockville Presbyterian Church will bring the timeless story to our congregation during morning worship service. There will be rehearsals after service on November 30th and December 7th.
Advent Fair
The Advent Fair will be held after worship on December 7th in the Calvin Room. We will have pizza and decorate the church, Mission Committee will have cards for our homebound members for people to sign, and we will wrap gifts for Rainbow Place residents. Faith Formation will have an Advent craft and cookie decorating station, and we will have Noonday selling women-made jewelry and accessories from around the world.
Sing For Our Land
One of the greatest viola soloist of our time, Juilliard professor Hsin-Yun Huang is visiting RPC to give a recital on Saturday, November 15 at 3 pm as part of RPC's community concerts of this year. Huang is the top prize winner of 1993 ARD International Music Competition in Munich. She is also a viola faculty at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia. This is an unaccompanied solo viola recital and will be wrapped up with Mozart’s String Duo No. 1 featuring RPC’s very own violinist Shu-Ting Yao. RPC Fall Clean Up!

Thanksgiving Basket Food Collection
Help us fill Thanksgiving baskets for Community Reach! Needed items (and quantity listed for 1 basket) are: $30 Giant/Safeway gift card (1), stuffing (2 boxes), gravy (2 cans/jars), cranberry sauce (2 cans), instant potatoes (1 box), yams (2 cans), vegetables (3 16 oz. cans), apple juice (1 64 oz. Container), dessert (apple/pumpkin pie ingredients or 1 box cake mix and 1 can of frosting). Items will be collected until Sunday, November 15. Monetary donations are also accepted and will help complete the baskets with additional perishable items. Please designate your gift to Thanksgiving baskets.
Community Safety Workshop: Protecting Against Modern Scams and Fraud
Join us after Worship on November 2nd, for an important presentation by Mike Conrad from Montgomery County’s Keeping Seniors Safe(KSS) program. While the program’s name references seniors, this informative session is valuable for ALL adults. The presentation will cover crucial topics that affect everyone, including protection against scams, fraud, identity theft, and general safety issues. The session will last approximately one hour and include time for questions and discussion. KSS is a valuable program established by the Montgomery County Police Department to help keep our community informed and protected. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn essential safety tips and gather helpful resources to protect yourself and your loved ones.

On November 2nd, we will be observing All Saints Day with a slideshow honoring those who have died in the last year.

Volunteer at the Interfaith Works Clothing Center
Join the
Mission Committee in volunteering at the Interfaith Works Clothing Center on Saturday,
September 20 from 10am-12pm. Volunteers will be sorting clothes, food, school supplies, or
other. Volunteers should wear comfortable close-toed shoes and expect to be on their feet.
Volunteers must be at least 14 years old. To volunteer, contact Rachel Jung.
February Lunch Bunch
Valentine's Lunch Bunch at Pastor Susan's home. Bring your lunch and enjoy good conversation and good company. Pastor Susan will host at her home and will provide a special Valentine's dessert. Comedy Night to Support Rainbow Place – January 23-25, 2025
Give a Hoot is celebrating its 2nd anniversary from January 23 through 25th and has chosen Rainbow Place to be the beneficiary of the weekend’s proceeds. Give a Hoot Comedy Club is Montgomery County’s only full-time comedy club. Through their “Comedy For The Community” program, they partner with a different nonprofit each week. This year they have already raised over $25,000 for their nonprofit partners in Montgomery County. Last year was Rainbow Place’s first time partnering with Give a Hoot. Volunteer at Rainbow Place: RPC is serving dinner at Rainbow Place
RPC is serving dinner at Rainbow Place on Wednesday January 22, Wednesday February 26, and Wednesday March 26. We need 2-3 volunteers for each date. Volunteers serve dinner from 6:30-8:30/9 pm and must be at least 9 years old. If interested in volunteering, please reach out to Rachel at fastfreckle@hotmail.com.
Potluck with Jerusalem Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church
Join us for a Joint Service and Potluck with Jerusalem Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church. We will be hosting our friends in Christ here at RPC. Sunday February 9 is Super Bowl Sunday and Souper Bowl Sunday! Rockville Presbyterian Church is collecting canned and dried goods for Manna Food Bank this Sunday (February 9) from 11:30 am - 1 pm in the church parking lot. Manna Food Bank is a food bank located in Gaithersburg (https://www.mannafood.org/) and serves those in need in our community. Christmas Eve Candlelight service for families
Children and adults of all ages are invited and welcomed to come together in joyful anticipation as we celebrate the glorious birth of our Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ. Join RPC for an engaging worship service, enlivened with the timeless melodies of cherished carols and the radiant glow of candlelight. Pastor Susan Graceson will infuse a light-hearted and interactive retelling of the birth story, as we create treasured memories and kindle the spirit of Christmas within our hearts.

Join us for an Advent Study Group, Tuesdays at 7 p.m., on zoom. Liz Pruchnicki will lead us as we study the book Holy Disruption: Discovering Advent in the Gospel of Mark. The book is available for purchase online, but you do not need the book to participate in the group. Join us as we explore new ways to consider and celebrate the coming of Christ into our world. Christmas Toy Distribution: Join Pastor Susan in distributing the Christmas toys that we collected on Thursday, December 19 3-7pm. Celebrate the joyous occasion of Jesus' birth as you witness the adorable children of Rockville Presbyterian Church donning delightful costumes and using props to bring the timeless story to our congregation during morning worship at 10:30 am. Under the direction of our Minister of Music, Huai-En Tsai, they will sing and portray the cherished tale of God’s action in our lives, sure to evoke smiles and delight audiences of every age.
