Children's Christmas Pageant
The children of Rockville Presbyterian Church will bring the timeless story to our congregation during morning worship service. There will be rehearsals after service on November 30th and December 7th.
A Service of Lessons and Carols
Special music, a soloist and our choir will fill the Sanctuary with songs that highlight the age-old lessons of Christmas.
Christmas Eve Candlelight Service
Children and Adults of all ages are invited to come together in joyful anticipation as we celebrate the glorious birth of our Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ.
Advent Fair
The Advent Fair will be held after worship on December 7th in the Calvin Room. We will have pizza and decorate the church, Mission Committee will have cards for our homebound members for people to sign, and we will wrap gifts for Rainbow Place residents. Faith Formation will have an Advent craft and cookie decorating station, and we will have Noonday selling women-made jewelry and accessories from around the world.
Sing For Our Land
One of the greatest viola soloist of our time, Juilliard professor Hsin-Yun Huang is visiting RPC to give a recital on Saturday, November 15 at 3 pm as part of RPC's community concerts of this year. Huang is the top prize winner of 1993 ARD International Music Competition in Munich. She is also a viola faculty at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia. This is an unaccompanied solo viola recital and will be wrapped up with Mozart’s String Duo No. 1 featuring RPC’s very own violinist Shu-Ting Yao. RPC Fall Clean Up!

Thanksgiving Basket Food Collection
Help us fill Thanksgiving baskets for Community Reach! Needed items (and quantity listed for 1 basket) are: $30 Giant/Safeway gift card (1), stuffing (2 boxes), gravy (2 cans/jars), cranberry sauce (2 cans), instant potatoes (1 box), yams (2 cans), vegetables (3 16 oz. cans), apple juice (1 64 oz. Container), dessert (apple/pumpkin pie ingredients or 1 box cake mix and 1 can of frosting). Items will be collected until Sunday, November 15. Monetary donations are also accepted and will help complete the baskets with additional perishable items. Please designate your gift to Thanksgiving baskets.
Community Safety Workshop: Protecting Against Modern Scams and Fraud
Join us after Worship on November 2nd, for an important presentation by Mike Conrad from Montgomery County’s Keeping Seniors Safe(KSS) program. While the program’s name references seniors, this informative session is valuable for ALL adults. The presentation will cover crucial topics that affect everyone, including protection against scams, fraud, identity theft, and general safety issues. The session will last approximately one hour and include time for questions and discussion. KSS is a valuable program established by the Montgomery County Police Department to help keep our community informed and protected. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn essential safety tips and gather helpful resources to protect yourself and your loved ones.
All Saints Day
On November 2nd, we will be observing All Saints Day with a slideshow honoring those who have died in the last year. If you have a friend or family member you wish to include in the slideshow, please send Amy Macomber some photos and information about them. Also, if anyone has any photos of Karen Doty, please forward them to Amy Macomber so that she can have enough pictures to add her to the slideshow? Volunteer at the Interfaith Works Clothing Center
Join the
Mission Committee in volunteering at the Interfaith Works Clothing Center on Saturday,
September 20 from 10am-12pm. Volunteers will be sorting clothes, food, school supplies, or
other. Volunteers should wear comfortable close-toed shoes and expect to be on their feet.

The latest in church communications, from AI, to social media, to the Google Ad Grant and other ways churches can market and reach their audience will be discussed. We’ll cover communications essentials and church marketing trends that are working today.
Rev.Karen Doty Memorial Service
The memorial service for beloved former RPC pastor Rev. Karen Doty will be held at her home church, Christian Community Presbyterian Church, in Bowie, at 11 a.m., on Saturday, July 26. All are welcome. The church is located at 3120 Belair Drive. There is plenty of parking.
RPC Annual Picnic
Wear your picnic clothes to church. Lots of space for children to enjoy themselves. Lots of shade to sit and enjoy the outdoors. The Friday Small Group is providing sandwiches, fried chicken, chips and a token for an adult beverage. Please bring a dessert or side dish to share, a bottle of water, a chair or blanket and lawn games. Donations to help defray the cost will be appreciated.
School Supply Collection
School is out for summer, but another school year starts sooner than you think! Help us collect school supplies for Interfaith Works. Every year, Interfaith Works provides backpacks to those in need. Last year, Interfaith Works provided backpacks filled with supplies to over 2,000 kids and teens. Needed items are: pencils (box of 10), glue sticks, erasers, scissors, crayons, composition notebooks, spiral notebooks, packaged paper, folders, markers (box of 10), rulers, index cards, pens (black and blue), highlighters, binders (1 inch), binder dividers, backpacks (any size), pencil pouches. Deliver items to the Calvin Room by Sunday, August 3. Stay tuned for a possible volunteering opportunity at the Interfaith Works Clothing Center to delivery our supplies!
Sunday School Teachers needed!
SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHERS AND/OR HELPERS NEEDED!
The Faith Formation committee is looking for teachers and helpers for Sunday School (ages 5+) this fall. With at least two more teachers, it's a commitment of just one Sunday or less per month. No experience is necessary but you'll need to consent to a background check. Materials and lessons are provided. Help our children grow in their faith and have fun! Gay Men's Chorus at Christ Church
Father Tim and our friends at CEC have invited us to enjoy a concert of the Gay Men's Chorus Of Washington. GenOUT Youth Chorus at RPC
Don’t miss this talented group of singers as they provide music for the June 1st Sunday morning worship service at RPC. The GenOUT Youth Chorus is the DC area’s only vocal ensemble for LGBTQ+ and allied youth. An outreach ensemble of the Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington, GenOUT has performed at many local houses of worship, the Lincoln Theatre, the Kennedy Center, Washington National Cathedral, the White House, and the Library of Congress. We look forward to welcoming the GenOut chorus and their family members to RPC!
Presbyterians with Pride
Presbyterians with Pride, May 31-June 7. Join other Presbyterians to celebrate DC World Pride week which will include a prayer brunch, an interfaith worship service, choral festival, human rights conference, parade, and block party. Earth Day City Clean Up
Join your RPC friends as we do our part to keep God’s world beautiful and trash free. We will enjoy a Earth Day themed service and then RPC’s Mission Committee is organizing a neighborhood trash clean up and with Earth Day themed crafts for kids. We will focus on nearby public areas most afflicted with litter (MD-355, Washington Street) and do our part to restore God’s beauty or our surroundings. Come dressed for dirty work and wear comfortable shoes. Some gloves and grippers will be available or bring your own. You are also encouraged to wear your RPC T-shirt or something bright for the sake of visibility. We will meet in the RPC parking lot following worship. This is an SSL eligible activity. Youth Invasion Concert
The amazing GenOUT Youth Chorus will use music to celebrate the voices and ideals of young people. They will be joined by the Voices of Hope Youth Choir singing songs of justice and activism. The concert will include song, dance, instruments, and audience-participation games. It is free and open to the public.
